12-to-Many originates from a real journey in which traceability comes before narration.
Without the possibility of retracing the material and temporal origin of what we observe, there can be no truthful and sustainable story of wood.
The project is rooted in the SaDiLegno experience, a physical traceability system for the forest–wood supply chain, internationally recognized as a concrete example of environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
Art is the natural continuation of a journey already accomplished in the real world.
The first collection of the project, Wood_Time, makes the biological time embedded in wood perceptible.
Growth rings, marrow, and density are not symbols, but physiological traces that testify to a growth process that began in the second half of the 19th century.
The foundational work Secular Clock_39b is a 14-second video in which centuries of vegetal time are compressed into a short duration.
Time is not represented, but activated: a human rhythm enters into relation with biological growth, eventually returning to its origin, the marrow.

From this prolonged practice of observation also emerges toFaceWood.
By focusing attention on a knot and making its symmetry readable, a recognizable form appears: a face.
This is not an invented figure, but the moment in which wood returns a gaze.
In 12-to-Many, the digital does not create the artwork.
It preserves its trace.
Digital traceability stands alongside physical traceability, making a continuous return to the origin possible.
